tortuga de patas rojas
  49

RED-FOOTED TURTLE Chelonoidis carbonaria terrestrial species native to savannas and forests, from Panama to the Guianas, Brazil and Paraguay. In Venezuela and Colombia it is morrocoy or morrocoy sababera. It is had as a pet, having to feed it 50% of various vegetables, because if you get used to a food you will reject the rest. Fruits are part of their nutrition but on a small scale because sugars are harmful to them. They require a lot of calcium and their deficiency can be observed in their shell which becomes pointed. They should be provided with water because they produce little saliva to swallow.
